On July 25, 2019, band members from Elizabethton High School enjoyed a sweet treat, courtesy of Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tennessee.
Brandy Treadway, director of nursing, set up a station at the high school to fry fresh doughnuts for the teens. She started this annual tradition when her daughter played in the band several years ago, and even though her daughter graduated, Treadway continues to provide this treat for the Thursday morning snack time of band camp.
Treadway fried up about 400 doughnuts this year, and volunteers put the toppings on. There were various types of icing, sprinkles and sugar.
“This band has given so much to our local youth and continues to do so,” said Treadway. “I was happy to assist on carrying on this tradition.”
