On Oct. 12, 2017, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tennessee, hosted its first rehab reunion.
Approximately 10 former rehab patients who had graduated within the past six months, along with their family members, enjoyed catching up with therapists and other associates at the facility. Associates served subs, chips, nuts, fruit and veggie trays along with pumpkin pie bites and pecan pie bites in keeping with the autumn theme.
“The attendees loved getting to see their therapists and friends that they had made while here at the facility,” said Amanda Jennings, business development director. “Some of the long-term residents came down to be reunited with friends they had made as well.”
“It was truly inspirational to see former patients who needed a lot of assistance on Day 1, now able to walk back in the facility independently,” said Jessica Story, physical therapist.
“It was great to see former patients thriving at home and even able to get out in the community to come see us!” said Jenny Crawford, occupational therapist. “We tend to get close to patients, so it makes our day to see them doing well.”
