When Ricky Hensley sprained his right knee, he suffered from weakness and decreased mobility.

Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tennessee, was able to help Hensley improve in these areas. He came to the skilled nursing and rehab center on Sept. 6, 2019. Physical and occupational therapists worked with him on upper- and lower-body strengthening exercises, balance and safety strategies.

By the end of his rehab stay, Hensley was independent in his bed mobility, sitting balance, hygiene and self-feeding, as well as at a supervision level for walking, transfers, standing balance and getting dressed.

“I am grateful to all the staff of Life Care,” Hensley said. “They have helped me a lot. Therapy was excellent, and I have improved a lot from day one. The nursing staff took good care of me.”

Hensley returned home on Oct. 14.
