On Aug. 24, 2017, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, Tennessee, sponsored a table at the annual Boys & Girls Club Steak and Burger fundraising event.
All the adults who attended the event were served burgers, and each table had a child representing the Boys & Girls Club who was served steak. John Currie, athletic director from the University of Tennessee, was the guest speaker for this year’s event.
Amanda Jennings, admissions and marketing director, and Jennifer Buckles, accounts payable associate, attended.
“My children and Jennifer’s daughter attend the Boys & Girls Club during the summer while we work, and also after school, so the Club is very special to our hearts,” said Jennings. “It helps parents tremendously. I never have to worry about who is picking my child up from school, and the Club also helps them with their homework, which is a great help to us parents.”
The dinner raised $67,435 for the local Elizabethton/Carter County Boys & Girls Club.
Jennings added: “I am very thankful that I work for a company that not only cares about the generation of people that we care for but also cares for the generations after us.”
